A police officer put gps on a guys car. The guy says that he shouldn't have done that without a search warrant. The Police officer is saying it's just like tracking someone by a cell phone. The Judge said this was a violation of the guys rights. The guy did get convicted but now they are going back to court to see what they should do.

I don't think that it was right for the police officer to put a gps on the guys car without asking. Our fourth Amendment is protection against unreasonable searches and seizures, so i think that the police officer was in the wrong by putting this on this mans vehicle. Tracking someone by a cell phone is different than to actually put something on his vehicle. The police officer is in the wrong by doing this and I think that once they go back to court something will be done about this. If the police officer would have had a search warrant then this could be totally different.
