5-7-12 Benner-Perry

While Mr. Benner-Perry was here we had a lot of fun and learned all at the same time. When he first came we were just finishing up our pole questions. When we had finished all of the poles we then moved on to doing powerpoints economic issues. We learned in that section that there is many ways that we can control ourselves but we realized that people really just don't care about anything. We then moved on to doing surveying, this was a very fun activity to show whether you were Liberal or Conservative. We saw that alot of people weren't what they really thought they were.

I think that the like button on facebook is sometimes good and sometimes is causes problems because some people abuse it. I like this because it tells some people when they post something on facebook that some people really do care and some people really do look at it. But then again like i said i believe that sometimes people do it to make other people mad and then it becomes a problem.

This is a very sad situation and yes they should fire this teacher because there is no way that she should have let anything like this happen. No matter what she did say to the child it was something that really hurt and upset the child so it was wrong. I agree with the father the teacher should be fired and putting her off and paying her, that is very messed up. There is no way that this teacher even deserves anything close to getting a pay check. If i were this woman i would be embarrased of myself for what she has done because she really has hurt this childs feelings and probably hurt him inside for the rest of his life.

This is an awful situation I would have hated to see this wreck happen. I wouldn't know what to do if i saw this happen. I would try my best to help all the people get out of the car but in this case it looks like there was not a thing that you could do for them. I don't think that people really understand what the family of these people. I wish that there was something that someone could have done for these poor people. I would love to ahve been able to be there and been able to help all the people.

I don't understand why people think that because you are defending yourself that is still considered to be murder. I understand that some people do use self defense as an excuse when they shouldn't because i mean people think they can just kill people for no reason and i don't think that it is right at all.

1.) What does it mean to you to save money?
- This means alot to me. Since i was little i always talked about how much money i was going to save and i believe so far i have done pretty good with saving my money. This means alot to me because you have to save money in case something would happen.

2.) Are you good at saving money? Why or Why not?
-Yes, i am pretty good at saving money because i was brought up and taught how to save money.

3.) What are some ways for you to get better at saving money?
- Well i know one major way i could save money would be to stop eating out all the time. I don't usually think about how much money i spend in eating out. It just seems like it's easier to do rather than to go home and make something.

4.) Why is it good to put money in the bank?
-It is good to put money in the bank in case something would happen to some of the money that you had in a safe at home or something, so that you would always have some sort of money left. You should never put all your money in one spot so you always will at least have something.

5.) Do you think it is important to save your money ?
-Yes, i think that it is very important to save money because you always need money to buy things that you have. You never know what it is like to not have money until that comes upon you and it would be awful to go somewhere and not have money for what you were wanting to buy.

I think that it is a good thing that some of the marines are being sent home because i don't think that there is any reason for them to be over there for this long. I guess if they need to send some of the Marines to somewhere else that would be okay. I don't see why they should leave all of these Marines over there if they aren't needed. That's time that these people could be spending with there families. They should try to kepp some of our people home in case there is a reason that we may need the Marines here.

Im not glad that this guy got in this trouble but im glad that they are doing something about it because we can't be harming our waters like that. I mean it is right around vacation time people are going to be going on vacation and the people that own the resorts im sure don't want to lose all this money in one summer. Plus the people who go on the vacations who have already planned them would probably be really upset for forking out all that money for there vacation. I think they should be more careful with stuff because it causes massive stuff to happen.

• I learned that there is way to much garbage threw down on the ground.
• People don't look at throwing garbage on the ground as a serious matter.
• It is very easy to take care of your garbage and people just dont care.
• Garbage is leading us to many things such as bugs and spiders etc. that comes around.
• I learned that disposing of garbage in a dumpster is still polluting the land.

2.) Is this abuse one of the most important problems facing the world today?

• I believe this is a huge problem because anywhere you go you see garbage laying all over the place this makes us look trashy. I think that we need to find a better way of getting rid of our trash because people don't want to come here and visit if we have trash laying all over.

3.) Is the solution proposed a practical solution to the problem? Why?

• Yes, I think that this is a problem because when we kill trees and stuff we are harming all the stuff around it. I don't think that it is hurting for us to cut down a couple trees to use the trees for paper. The reason is because we do need some paper. Computers are taking over the world why not use some paper and try to stop this.

4.) What in your opinion is the most important environmental abuse facing our world today? why?

• I think trash is a huge one because people think that it is ok to just throw there trash on the ground. And usually once they start doing this they always throw there trash on the ground. I don't think that people really understand what they have done to our country. They look at it like its something stupid but it really isn't.

But i don't think that this is going to make them better at shooting a gun or anything. I think this would be a very good idea for them to make facebook more safe because it seems like it is way to easy for people to look at your stuff. I think killing 77 different people because of self defense i don't think that there is anyway that this is possible at all. Using the same password would just make everything easier for you. If you use different passwords then you tend to lose or forget the passwords. I think this is a given that a lot of people have smartphones. I mean soon its going to be where the only phones they have are smartphones. It is a little stupid to pay that much money for internet on your phone. I have a smartphone and I don't use alot of the stuff on it. I don't know how to work alot of it. Sometimes you have to get that people think they are better than other people because they can afford these types of thing's. The bad part is that people that can't even work to pay for there own stuff are given a smartphone. I think just a regular cell phone would defiantly be enough.

-Once-Ler is a person who thinks that only what he does it right. Because the Lorax has an idea and he is being put down and noone likes what he is doing. I agree because he is just trying to make a life like everyone else.

Why does the Lorax speak for the trees? Why is it important to speak up for others? Have you ever spoken up for someone else? Has someone else ever spoken up for you?
- He is speaking for the trees because that is something that interests him. It is important to speak up for others because some people don't know how to speak up for themselves and they need help. Yes, I speak up for people all the time because I can't stand when people pick on other people.Yes, someone has spoken up for me before and I was glad that they do.

How does the Once-ler's Thneed business hurt the land of the Lorax? What happens to the Swomee-swans, the Brown Bar-ba-loots, and the Humming-fish? How could things have been different if the Once-ler listened to the Lorax?
- Because all the animals would have more land to live on and the Once-Ler's plan would hurt the Lorax because he wouldn't make BIGGER BIGGER money that he was already making.

-I would plant the seeds so that you could grow more trees for the ones that are being cut down.

This seems like a very good idea to me. I think parents are allowing to many young children to lay in the tanning bed. There are so many people that have skin cancer and are regretting laying in the tanning bed and then you still have people that lay in it everyday and some even lay more than once a day. I think that you should have to be 18 to lay in the tanning bed because then you are considered a adult and it's your choice if you want to take the chance getting skin cancer then that is your doings and up to you. Although, being me I don't lay in the tanning bed very often at all because I don't want to get cancer and then have to worry about doing the treatments for that.

Making voters show their ID seems like a good idea to me. I think that you need to do that to be sure that the person that is on the ID is the person that is voting. They should always be sure that there ID matches their voting card. This would help be sure that they are aren't voting for someone else. I always have thought that you had to show your ID I didn't know that you could just go in and vote I always thought you ahd to have your ID.

I think that all this is stupid especially since the lady did try paying for the pumpkin for heaven sakes it was only a $2.00 pumpkin. I mean i could understand if the lady didn't try paying for the pumpkin and they went after her and made her pay for the pumpkin. What i don't understand is this lady spent $75.00 at this place and accidentally took a $2.00 pumpkin, they should just let her pay for it and let this be over. This is an awful situation. I wouldn't want to ever put the blame on anyone for this. I understand that the parents really didn't have the money to take the kid to a doctor. But you find the money when it comes to your kid no matter what you have to do. Although, I don't really understand why they put the parents in jail for neglecting their child it's not like they had the money and didn't do it, they didn't. I have had an incident where i was ordering something online and it was from a different country and i didn't even know and they tried to access my moms credit card like 4 or 5 different time in just one day. If they stopped the business from doing that this would help more business out around here. Especially sense you can't tell if it is a foreign country or something. I believe if they don't do away with these programs then they should have to put where they are from on the homepage so that you know exactly where your order is coming from.

Im very glad that they are postponing this because there were more people that didn't like it than people that actually did like it. I don't think that they should be able to do this. I think that the parents of the children that they don't want to look at this stuff , they need to keep an eye on there kids and make sure that they aren't looking at stuff that you don't want them to. Hopefully they get through this without this bill passing because I think that this would just cause bigger problems for the people generating the program.

I don't think that it is a very good idea for google to do this. Once again they are trying to get into our privacy which I think is very wrong. I believe that it would be stupid to keep all that information and go back and look at it because look at all the people that go to google and just type in a bunch of stupid stuff. They should be able to keep some stuff for a little while but i don't think that they should keep all that information for awhile. I mean sometimes you have to be able to get to the information so i could see if they would keep it for maybe up to three weeks.

Daniel Martin, Bobby Kelly, and Justin Thorne- I think that this would be a very good idea because if you got apples instead of getting french fries that is a lot  more healthier than eating french fries. I believe that this bill should pass.

Lee Carpenter, Travis Kisner, and Benny Haddix- This would be a very good idea because you would save yourself from so many different calories. Eventually, you would get use to eating foods that are actually good for you and you would want that kind of food now.

Raven Haddix, Chelsea Swiger, and Antonio Dalton- This would be good because then you wouldn't have people eating out all the time and it would even save you money on food. It would be alot easier for people to decide what they were going to eat for dinner. I think that Sunday would be a good day to close a fast food restaurant because that would keep the families together and they could talk about everything that you were backed up on.

Ezik Norris and Justin Phillips- Yes, this would a be a great idea because you would have more of a healthy choice to pick from other than only picking from items that are bad for you. I think that if you had this bill pass and everyone around starting doing something like this than it would help because everyone would start getting use to things like this and it would help people with dieting.

Amanda Metheney and Shannon Farley- I think that this would be a good idea i just think that you would have trouble trying to get used to trying to make every American eat healthy. I think that if you could get people used to doing this then it would work but if you didn't it wouldn't work out.

I don't believe that there is any possible way that this man could have did this on purpose. I mean the girl was aa mile and a half away there is no way he could have aimed at her and shot her on purpose. It seems like to me when the guy accidentally shot the gun in the air and when the bullet came back down I think that it must have just hit her in the head then. There is no possible way that he could have did this on purpose. I believe that since you have the right to have guns than there should be no problem with this. I just can't figure out how this could have been done on purpose.

I don't really see a huge problem with this because even if there isn't a video then you are going to have people talking about it. It seems like to me since it is in the public that there isn't a problem with it. I could see if there was just a couple people around and you were videoing it but when all the public is seeing it. My other thing is what is difference in the news videoing something like this than for someone out of the public to just video it. I get that it probably does upset and make the person that is getting arrested mad because really who wants everyone in the public to know that they are getting arrested. Although, they are the one that committed the crime so they have to pay the prices for what they have done.

2-8-12 Death Penalty

     I think that the death penalty in a very good thing. Although, I think that they could very easily find a cheaper way of doing it. If you have the death penalty then you wouldn't have all these criminals running around committing murders and being let out of jail and it always seems like once they do something like that once than they keep doing thing's. Although, the way they do the death penalty is using our tax money to pay for it so I really don't like that. But i don't think that they should just let some of these people that did awful thing's and ruined families lives out of jail and just let them run. I believe with the people like that they should be able to do the death penalty.

The health of Americans in very poor. Around here I think that people need to start taking their health serious. There are many different thing's that are bad for your health. The obese people are the ones that usually end up getting diabetes and having breathing problems. I think we need to have more exercising activities around here, it would help with the people who need the exercise and are really willing to work to lose some weight. Eating healthy is a huge part in being a healthy person. If all you eat is junk and eating fast food everyday or every night that is not good for you at all. You have to have some sugar in your body but eating candy and stuff all the time is very bad for you. I know around here they have some exercising activities for the community to come to and it really seems to help with some of the people.

     James Madison starts this off by saying that the strong Constitution has the control to deal with violence and aggression created by factions. James Madison said these factions do not help those in favor of democratic government because they cause instability in the government. He made of it very clear by saying "The Friend of Popular Governments, never finds himself so much more alarmed for their character fate, as when he contemplates their propensity to this dangerous vice."  Madison then said that he knew that there would always be factions in the American Society because of the opinion differences. He says that one of the biggest sources that factions come from are from the distribution of land.
5- Federalist Papers 51-
     Madison begins this essay with talk of having three separate branches of government. The three different branches would be Judicial, legislative, and Executive. He explains that each branch should be independent and have the same amount of power. He later said why there should be restrictions on power.  He said many different times that the government has to be able to control the people and also be able to control themselves. Madison said that the idea of the three separate branches with equal amounts of power is a great idea. You can not let one branch of government have more power than the others. They stressed all the time about individual rights. He thinks that minority rights are important on lesser political issues unlike liberty or individual rights.

I don't think that it was right at all that the teacher could spy on the kids. That is the kids privacy. The kids weren't even at school they were at there own home. I think that the passwords situation was hard to decided which way to go. I think that they should be able to get the guys passwords if they are able to  prove forsure that the guy did do something. If they aren't sure if they can prove it then they shouldn't be able to get the passwords.

2-3-12 FBI Locates, Amber Henry and Kirsten Kamradt, Missing Georgia Girls, in Tennessee

The FBI has located two Georgia girls who were taken in the middle of the night. Amber 16, and Kirsten 14, were taken from their homes early on Wednesday. Both girls were found in Tennessee. Amber was dropped off at the gas station where she called for help but Kirsten was still in the vehicle.Detectives found the vehicle in Hamblen County and then pulled it over. The guy who had picked Kirsten up was Joshua Crowe 19 and was driving a white Buick. Although, when they found the vehicle Dustin Elliot 19 was the one who had Kirsten. Both of the men are facing kidnapping charges and are in custody at this time.

2-3-12 Two American Women Kidnapped in Egypt

Two American women and their guide were kidnapped in Egypt. It seems like to me that this is an ongoing thing right now in Egypt. Earlier this week Bedouins kidnapped 25 Chinese workers in Sinai but luckily they were released the following day and they weren't harmed. They were kidnapped while traveling south from Saint Catherine's monastery on Mount Sinai to the Red Sea resort. They only kidnapped the two American women and left the three other tourists behind. They are trying to find as much information about the situation as they can so they can try to catch the kidnappers.

2-2-12 Feds Crack Lincoln County Vote Fraud

I think that what the two men did was very wrong. I don't think that you should be able to in any way put a vote in for anyone else besides yourself. I believe that they should have got in a lot of trouble for doing this. I mean I would feel awful if I put a vote in for someone who was working out of the country to just try and make a living. From my understanding they also made some of the names up of people that don't even exist. I believe that the punishment that they got is what they should have got because you have to look at all the trouble that they have caused everyone else. This comes down to it when you say who can't trust anyone.

1-31-12 Movie Review

The Movie "The American President" was a very interesting movie and it made me understand how alot of thing's work with the president. In the movie at the beginning I was confused. In the beginning the president was in the White House talking about alot of stuff which was what got me confused. When the President decided that he was going to invite Sydney to the dinner I saw how the president went through different steps to decide if that was the right thing to do. He asked AJ what he thought of the idea. AJ then told him what he would do in this situation. I thought that It was weird for the President to actually ask someone else what to do with his personal life. I realized in the movie that the president is just like all of us. For some reason I pictured him to do nothing but do thing's to do with the president. I didn't think that it was right for Sydney's boss to get mad at her for going on a date with the president. I can kind of understand why the boss was mad because he was scared that this would jeopardize the bill that he was trying to pass. So then Sydney decided she was going to tell the president that she couldn't do it anymore that it wasn't going to work out. The president then explained to Sydney that everything was going to be okay and it would work out fine. There were 2 main bills that he was trying to pass. The first one was the Crime bill. I disagree with this because i think that we should have a way to protect ourselves if we need to. The Fossil Fuel Bill,  admissions control this is when you are controlling what is coming out of your car. They think that it does something to the air which it does but you have to understand what all it would take for you to be able to get by with it. He decided that he was going to drop the crime bill and rewrite it because he said it needs to make sense. Towards the end of the movie the President and Sydney are back together which I didn't think that it was going to happen. He was getting ready to give the State of Union Address when Sydney showed up and wanted to work thing's out and he gave her a dozen of roses and then he had to go give the State of Union Address and Sydney asked if she should leave and he said no she she went in and then the movie was over.

At the beginning of the movie I got a little confused but everything is seeming to make sense now. After I understood what was going on I actually really like the movie. The presidents wife had died from cancer, so then it was just the president and his daughter. He met a woman named Sydney and decided that he was going to invite her to a special dinner. He called Sydney and she thought that it was someone else so she hung up the phone a couple different times. He then called her back and said call the white house and ask to speak to the president.Sydney then called and spoke to the president and that's when the president invited Sydney to the dinner with him.Sydney then decided that she was evry excited to go to the dinner with him. After, Sydney went to the dinner with the president she went back to her job and her boss was very mad. He didn't want her to be with the president. The boss thinks that it will jeopardize the bill that he is trying to pass. The president called Sydney back to invite ehr over for a meatloaf dinner and she came and the daughter told her that he was with the denist. The daughter then explained that he wanted Sydney to think that he was just a normal person, he wanted Sydney to look at him in a different way other than a president. Sydney then explained to the president that this wasn't going to work out. Although, the man made her understand that yes everything was going to work out and it was going to be okay.

1-26-12 State of the Union Address (Education)

1) The State of the Union Address was a speech gave by Barrack Obama that lasted about an hour and 20 minutes long. He stated in his speech what it was that he wanted to focus on. Some of the things that he wanted to focus on were education reform, repairing America's infrastructure with money not used on the Iraq War, and creating new energy sources in America. All of the thing's that he wants to fix are major thing's that we need fixed so hopefully he does what he says he is going to try to do.

2) Obama's plan for education was to reform the tax code for the middle class Americans so that there are more opportunities for the American People to get an education. He said that he plans to open up job opportunities or make it so the people not working can go back to school to get an education. I agree with Obama i believe that we should keep our people in school and make the wages for immigrants higher. We have enough trouble taking care of our own people let alone helping out others.

Obama said that we could restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules, I agree that this would be a very good thing I believe that the people that make millions should have to pay more taxes and things like that so that they could help out the people who really have trouble. I believe by doing this it would help people with going in debt. Us being able to get gas and stuff from ourselves would help us out a lot, but us getting it from other Countries helps them not us. If you saved 3,000 dollars a year on mortgage you wouldn't have so many people selling their houses and looking for homes that are cheaper which are in bad shape. I totally agree with Obama if you are a American Manufacture you should have a much larger tax cut than the high-tech manufactures because they obviously make more money so then they should have to pay twice as much.

My name is Johanas de Enrique, I have a large farm of llamas in the middle section of our great colony. I have some concerns over the Articles of Confederation ya'. My first concern is about the currency. If, for instance, if I sell a llama in a different colony the value of the llama might differ from the value in my colony. Therefor, i will be getting jipped of my money. this isn't good as you can see, we are just simple farmers but we have to make a living too. my nest concern is about appeals. it is stated that congress shall be the last resort on all appeal in all disputes. this is somewhat a problem. this gives them the right to do what they want. if the congress doesn't agree with somthing that the rest of the country does then it doesn't matter what us simple folk want. another concern of mine is that if congress makes an agreement with another country, it is to my understanding that the states do not have to honor these aggreements. this will cause major problems among the states. in fact it might lead to a war among the states. this would not be a good thing and i highly doubt it would ever happen but i am just saying. the government should be able to have some authority here. i am all for the new government and everything that has been going on but we must get more organized and figure this out. please write me back with comments or anything you might want to share. i live at 406 llama ave.

1-24-12 Creation of Amendments

5. The Articles of Confederation had no central government. The founding fathers should have gave the proper people power to lead the people in the colonies. Every 4 years they should let the citizens elect a new leader as they see needed.
Congress had no power to tax the people. Congress needed to impose taxes to help pay for the military and some funds to improve public facilities for the citizens. The amendment that should have been made was the government should make people pay taxes on how much they own and their income. Just take a percentage of the peoples' money because it is put back in use for the people to make their lives better.

Congress didn't have any power to regulate the behavior of the people. Congress should have created laws people must follow or they face the consequences. People could be put to death or confined in a cell for many years to teach them a lesson.

A police officer put gps on a guys car. The guy says that he shouldn't have done that without a search warrant. The Police officer is saying it's just like tracking someone by a cell phone.The Judge said this was a violation of the guys rights. The guy did get convicted but now they are going back to court to see what they should do.

I don't think that it was right for the police officer to put a gps on the guys car without asking. Our fourth Amendment is protection against unreasonable searches and seizures, so i think that the police officer was in the wrong by putting this on this mans vehicle. Tracking someone by a cell phone is different than to actually put something on his vehicle. The police officer is in the wrong by doing this and I think that once they go back to court something will be done about this. If the police officer would have had a search warrant then this could be totally different.

A Georgia mother was arrested for letting her 10 Year old son get a tattoo of his brother. She claims that she had no idea that it was illegal for a 10 year old kid to get a tattoo even with her consent. The mother thought that it was very nice for the 10 year old boy to want to get a tattoo in honor of his brother who had been hit by a car and was killed. It is against the law in Georgia for anyone under the age of 18 to give a tattoo to anyone under the age of 18. I believe that it was nice that the 10 year old boy wanted to get a tattoo in honor of his brother but who let's there 10 year old kid get a tattoo. I don't think that is was right for the mother to let her son get a tattoo, i believe that she should have waited to he turned of age to get it.

Although, i see what they are trying to get across by trying to do something about the inappropriate videos and stuff that is on the internet. In this case I understand both sides of the case. It is your right to say whatever you would like but I believe sometimes that it is better to keep thing's to yourself. When you are telling a woman to go kill herself over the internet because she is buddhist, i believe that this is very wrong. Putting this over the internet so that everyone could see is just sad. I could never imbarrase someone that bad. Although, sometimes I say stuff not thinking so maybe this guy did the same thing. This is a bad situation and I don't think it should have been thrown out of court.
